yeah and a lot of the djs were anonymous for awhile since it was so closely associated with gays.
it just wasnt marketable as it was and by its design was unmarketable. but then later on obviously it became super infuential and found its way in loads of modern songs.

i dont think its homophobic. I think its in defense of lgbt culture which is idk how to describe it but i guess became gentrified and a commoditytheres still lots of great lgbt communities and gay bars and drag shows and people and artists obviously. but theyre not the face of it mostly. and a lot of those spaces are ruined
