I have an idea for a sweet romantic comedy movie with like a pretty cute piano soundtrack then in the last 5 minutes the main couple gets surrounded by bikers and brutally beaten to death and like harsh noise and pig squealing sounds replace the piano and then it ends

It needs to go all out on being a legitimately good touching romantic comedy before that point though

Like it needs to not just ride on the twist ending

And throughout the movie there will be hints like news stories that play in the background that are ignored or overhearing people talk about murders in the area but it's all ignored by the main cast

i went into this assuming the worst when we knew graham king was involved, the dipshit who produced bohemian rhapsody and ruined the entire queen fandom and narrative and i think this will happen to the MJ fandom/new fans as well. As a whole it's not a bad movie if you don't know about MJ or even know MJ was a real person but for any music nerd you'll be annoyed at the usual timeline tweaks/factual errors (no mj didn't get burnt after the grammys) and no he didn't pick thriller as the title for the song or album, rod temperton did. 0 mentions of janet or even showing her was NUTS, my mom kept asking where's janet? why aren't they showing her

jaafar was really good and the saving grace of the movie, the voice was f***ing crazy when it cut to him for the first time, legitimately had to double take it and even when they showed the off the wall art it was so close to the og cover it looked AI honestly. he was the best part of the movie, everyone else just felt like plot devices and stand ins which is expected when u try to cram 25 years of life into 2 hours. i thought the thing the movie did best apart from the performances/stage shows was probably the spectacle of MJ and how popular he was with people around the area/world

if part 2 is ever made/released it'll definitely be the better movie and will make for a more gripping story, everyone knows his dad was an a****** but it's hard to make the audience care about a millionaire who's the biggest person alive in this jaded world we live in today imo and that's why the story lacks at least in part 1.

everyone went crazy in the cinema when bubbles came out lmfao and my dumbass was in tears thinking of the bubbles pages itt, the sound design and mixing for the songs/performances was elite too and definitely added to the experience, it wont ever hit that hard at home which is unfortunate but alas it was an enjoyable filler movie made for people who were calling him a creepy pedo just 7-8 years prior and that's okay

side note the prince reference in the pool popped me since they used the actual quote he said

and super deep camille lore that i've not said itt (i dont think) but picking and dropping my parents off tonight for the movie was super funny because we have to drive just passed the street that the encino house is on where they live (lived?), my parents live like 15 mins away from that block
