i need to get on practicing some pronunciation more. R trips me up so much in certain words man like how the hell can my mouth pronounce "admirarla" without saying the gringo accent Rs

Pronunciation is some s*** you gotta actively try to remember sometimes it is what it is / it’s very humbling finding out your mouth just can’t say some s***

As for subs I cheat a lil but that’s also bc I can read Spanish so I’m like whatever, it doesn’t help anyone if I can’t hear something anyway so I’ll just read the subs if they talk too quick

I don’t think it matters it just depends on what skill you want to improve and what you enjoy doing

I honestly think if putting subs causes less friction then it’s a good idea to do so

The important part is habit building and contact time

@YungPapi it’s really big in the Japanese learning community, but I think I’m going to maybe start to use anki more for Spanish for low frequency and technical words I stumble upon during immersion

Anki is just a spaced repetition system that automatically sets dates for cards to review depending on your competence with them

Yeah, I mean in Japanese there are people who just go into native content with like 0.1~ comprehension

But eventually they improve just due to the sheer amount of input and compounding

I think you’re already at a level where even if something is fuzzy, the fact you’re going to get much more content in will outweigh any inefficiencies you’d have to worry about

It’s better to be inefficient and enjoy yourself than to be perfect and barely get any time in
