Took this time to listen to the Future Tyla world cup song
Future did it again
shill!
Hayley Williams gets up on stage in any outfit
I respect that
I struggle to really hear a huge dip in quality because the production is on-par throughout the whole album and lyrically it’s a fun time. I don’t think it’s culturally as significant as other songs obv but I’m not mad at it for that. What do you find weaker about it?
i mean id just say the melodies, instrumentation, paul himself (hes not bad just michael parts on the album is better), silly mood of the song make me think that it sticks out not in a great way
mind you its not a bad song for me and i wouldnt even have the need to state the opinion if it wasnt for the overall reputation of Thriller as an untouchable, consistently GOAT level album
It's saccharine as hell
He got on his knees

You struggle to hear a big dip in quality between Beat It and The Girl is Mine? You smoke dope (heroin not weed) ?
artie post but i dont think saccharine is necessarily bad!

anyone else not have many memories of growing up with MJ music?
when i was a kid his reputation among people i knew was a weirdo guy they thought was a pedo
of course knew the recognizable songs but i dont remember anyone really saying they were a fan of him. Thriller is not like forever tied to halloween with me or anything. everyone knew how famous he was but when i heard talk about MJ it was jokes about him
and yeah white thing maybe idk
Good list of song favs esp Forgotten that's like a top 5 LP song for me

Ya Paul vocals don’t hit like Mikes but the fact that they have a duet together (well, two) is cool.
I kinda get what you’re saying though. People usually point to it as a skip and it does stand out tonally in a more awkward way.
Thriller is mainly considered the GOAT album for having probably the strongest 4-5 track run ever, and The Girl Is Mine isn’t included within that.
