rvithree countries itself isnt bad if they werent covering such a massive area. its better for the cultural spirit of the cup to have it be more in one place. like its impossible to capture the same magical feeling of countries hosting and it taking over the whole country in that time (not that ive ever attended ofc). and its absurd to have teams just flying all over North America back and forth. not to mention expecting fans to do that, like you'd want fans of a certain country to be actually able to attend the games. But if that team is playing all over the continent its not possible unless theyre mega rich. also worse on the players and match congestion is a real problem with increased injuries and stuff. world cup shouldnt have so many low-stakes games
and this comes alongside other things happening like similar inflated Champions League format, insane prices, tons of FIFA corruption
all of which a lot of people think are combining to taking away the magic of football/the world cup, lowering the competitive standard and and just working towards it being as much of a cash cow as possible

FIFA also grossing overestimated how much they could charge, America doesn’t have the public transport/ infrastructure for this at all and is over charging for the few places that do like NJ. Tourism is / has been down bc of Trump. It was just a bad bad time for it to be here. Same issue gonna be for the LA Olympics.
