it’s not that theyre super detailed, theyre actually very rough but the light and dark patterns and masses create the illusion of realism and rococo exuberant excess. and he isnt limited to one mood or atmosphere.

this guy died broke because this style of art was passe in his day, but is now revered among modern artists

i would appreciate it a lot.
