theres an AURA to playing games on the real hardware
playing link to the past on snes on a tube tv is going to be better than some vastly superior emulated hardware trying to recapture the feeling.

I agree for old s***, mostly crt tv era stuff. The pixel art was made with those in mind and emulation filters don't recapture that
But for everything from the LCD tv era onward, you're experience will always be better on newer hardware with QOL options (besides the occasional problem game that will be emulated well at some point)
