this is lovely! I'm not too versed into classical artists but I do tend to appreciate french composers 
Yann Tiersen is also another one (he ain't as ancient) the stuff he did for Amelie soundtrack 
It's not unheard of I think everyone has their fav styles/composers that they stick to because it's less work for them when studying or practising on new pieces and works
