been feeling very fulfilled seeing y’all’s first reactions and reading the reviews. this album took a village, and everyone held me in one way or another.
@oscarscheller can’t thank you enough for helping me realize this sonic vision. so grateful to have met a producer who has deep love and appreciation for each sound in the new avatar holy trinity: r&b, alternative + club music…AND who’s a brilliant songwriter!! also so appreciative of your vulnerability and willingness to have the hard conversations that have given this album so much depth. you are a genius and your kindness is the reason why all the girlies feel safe collaborating with you.
what blows my mind about @yasserabubeker is how wide his reference points are while still being rooted in r&b diva aesthetics and sensibilities. the visual world this album (and every video of mine he’s directed) lives in is one that he’s been investing in before we ever met and even more since I started these songs. yasser: i am so touched by your ability to translate feelings into imagery. i’m crying when I get the deck, again when I read through the shot list and yet again when I watch the first edit! from concept to execution, you’ve made this process so much fun while not losing sight of the messaging. love you down.
also wanna shout out my managers @ifabienne and @alexasilverman who have been tirelessly devoted to lifting me up and helping me realize my vision/dreams. y’all are a big part of my level-up, both in terms of getting what I need to make the art and the grace that i’ve been able to access during my creative process. thank you from the bottom of my heart!
