    There are people itt who are much better served to put you on Cindy Lee ( @smokingrules @passing_the_time ?), because Diamond Jubilee is the only album of his that i've heard, and I've only heard it a few times. Cindy Lee is a solo project by Patrick Flegel, who was the lead singer of the band Women, if you're familiar with them.

    Just put on diamond jubilee and be sure to have open rym while you listen

    What’s Tonight to Eternity is where I would start. It’s kind of the middle ground between the old and new.

    Old used to do a lot of experimental soundscapes mixed with sad pop/country bits but then starting with Cat O Nine Tails it definitely went more retro Americana. All of it’s amazing though.

    Diamond Jubilee is without a doubt the greatest album of the 2020’s and I don’t see it being topped this decade. He’s a genius.

    Is diamond jubilee RYM-core? i've never had a RYM account, and diamond jubilee didn't really strike me as that

    Not that it wouldn't be highly rated on RYM

    But there are specific albums and bands that occupy the "RYM-core" space in my mind

    I think the no streaming physicals only thing plays into the narrative a lot. Then the pitchfork perfect score

    I’ve seen them three times, the first two were really lowkey very fan centric where he came and met everyone and by the third it was full of pitchfork bros.

    Diamond Jubilee definitely moved who the fanbase was for better and worse I guess

    yea

    but if you use Apple Music, it's pretty easy to import that and anything else you'd like into your library, and it integrates seamlessly with the rest of your library

    Spotify local files works too, just a lot messier

    The second one like a year before DJ, they were very kind and it’s the only time I’ve ever met someone who wanted to talk in depth about their work with you. Very cool experience and him hitting on me in the full drag was awesome! 👍
