and people here just let everyone who was on the planes stay in their homes for a few days while the air space was closed!

they closed the airspace for a week after 9/11 you werent allowed to fly. and all planes in the sky had to land at the nearest airport.
newfoundland is the closest airport for like every plane over the atlantic ocean, so they all had to come and land here

and there werent hotels or anything. the towns would have like 2 motels or whatever lol
so everyone just stayed in the homes of random people living here for a week and the gov gave people time off to accommodate them
