Got some buzz for getting the first pitchfork 10/10 ever, signed to a label, next album was well received but didn't sell much, album after that was panned by critics, dropped from the label, put out one more album independently, disbanded

then the singer recorded an album by himself in 2023, put it out under the 12 Rods name, and toured with a new lineup for a while. he's doing some solo shows rn

The whole thing came about because he found some tapes with forgotten demos, which was crazy because they basically dumped the vault when they broke up, posted pretty much everything for free on their website, but this had managed to get overlooked

He re-recorded all those newly discovered demos from scratch and that's what their most recent album ended up being

His nephew actually posted the original demo tapes earlier this year, so it was pretty cool to hear how those songs sounded 25 years ago vs now
