They put one in like 20 mins from me

    What's good there

    burgers and shakes

  • Spice Bones

i have a friend who claims to have been addicted to it b4

Classical psychs can definitely be abused, but aren't chemically addictive. Also hard to get addicted because you're tolerance goes up like crazy for a couple weeks after you do it even once.

You can get addicted to anything though, I'm talking purely about whether or not the substance itself has something in it that will get you physically dependent.

yes but i think its still possible for something to have overlapping qualities with psychoactive d**** and not literally be a d*** itself

    I agree with that

I guess my thought process is that some of the substances found in things we eat do interact with our brain in a way that alters perception, because those substances are themselves mild d****

Like I said before, sugar is definitely stretching that definition to its maximum, maybe to the point of being a reductio ad absurdum, but I think it's a relatively clean way to categorize overall, compared to the million other qualifying factors people come up with

Only the ones that cause the brain to release perception-altering/mood-enhancing chemicals

If sugar is a d*** what is salt

Was about to say just a food/seasoning/mineral

But I googled and apparently it causes your brain to release a lot of the same chemicals as sugar

We're really pushing this line of thinking to its edge now

    fruit ones still do that

    strawberry is d***

I would say the strawberry itself is not a d***, but the sugars inside it very well may be

Another way you could split it up is by whether or not the reaction in the brain is caused by normal evolutionary s***, like "I'm low on sodium so I'm gonna produce a ton of endorphins when I consume salt" vs something like cocaine that is just totally hijacking those systems

That's where the line gets blurry again though

isnt the strawberry reactions probably related to normal evolutionary s*** too though

feeling low on sodium right now, a spoonful of salt would feel lovely

yes that would fall under the same category as the salt example probably

if you decided to use that specific way of defining d*** vs non-drug

  • speaking of strawberry I also always think that strawberry-flavour and the taste of an actual strawberry are the most distinct from each other when it comes to fruit flavours vs the fruit themselves. who can relate
