yes the most famous is vermeer, who painted the girl with the pearl earring, which is known as the mona lisa of the north.
he had like 30sh paintings or something.

his brother supported him throughout his life financially and after he died, he marketed all the paintings he left behind.
it wasnt so much people didnt like his work or anything like people think, even though it was very avant garde in its day and im sure many ppl would have disliked it. but he was just so mentally ill and unstable he couldnt do the buisness aspect.
