I never understood reggie watts. Very corny
yes.
salvador dali i think has weak compositions even though his aesthetics and character design are phenomenal. and his eccentricities came off more like branding than authentic.
I think the canadian fine art movement is extremely weak on a whole outside of indigenous art.
There are a LOT of famous living artists on instagram that really dont impress me. I could argue that the having the full package, of making videos and stuff that work on instagram is part of the art and is kinda performance art. which is fine and i respect. but if we are talking just the canvas a lot of it is weak
no cus he made a naked lady and a bunch of blocks look like abe lincoln if you back up 6 feet, squint your eyes, and tilt your head.

it can be. but advertising isnt inherently a bad thing, showing people a product they otherwise wouldnt of heard of that brings them joy, can be positive. the way its usually done nowadays, is obviusly negative for a load of reasons.
and fine art can be a lot more corporate than a mom and pop store advertising a product they created thats a valid and useful expression of art.
but generally speaking it would be a waste of money and time and not even possible, to paint things like magazine covers with oil paintings that take years to make as opposed to a acrylic made that afternoon.

Hi.
what is the difference between "high art" and low art to u
really is just branding.
ideally it would be how much care was put into the artwork and how much care was put into learning a bunch of the different mental tools to make something and using them in a novel way. this applies to film, advertising, fashion, manga, games etc
but in reality its just branding.
Why is Mariah's Open Arms stuck in my head all of a sudden... I haven't spun it in years.
