Like they usually aren't that blatant about it but the weird uniform rules are strangely consistent across these places

im sure et will come in here on some “well i like it when everyone wears a uniform, it helps brand recognzition and instil discipline. i dont want my doctor wearing a tie dye shirt” or whatever

Like the point of a uniform they would argue is "we need you to look presentable and for it to be clear to customers that you are an employee" etc etc

But a customer is gonna be like "well they have the shirt with the logo but idk those jeans are blue instead of black" or "omg that girl is a mess did you see the white sneakers?! I'm never coming back"

I am even willing to understand the limitations up to that point

Okay you want me to wear a hat and a shirt with the logo? Got it. That way customers know you work there. Understood. No pajama pants and flip flops? Yeah kinda makes sense.

But then the other weirdly specific rules contradict the argument that the rule exists only for those reasons

i say give em a name tag and let them work naked for all i care

I went to a school that also had a uniform and their reasoning was "well it's to get you ready to work a real job where you will be expected to follow uniform rules"

And the whole time they said this while pretty much wearing what they wanted within reason and when you asked them about the more specific uniform rules their answer was pretty much "cus we said"

a school i switched to that held onto the religion stuff for years after it was banned, still had uniforms even though its a public school. which youre not allowed to do here. and a parent sued them and won. this was after i went but i just didn’t wear it.
after the lawsuit they could only suggest the uniform and couldnt enforce it lol
