As a young young kid, this book series called secrets of droon completely cpatured my imagination and encouraged me to be creative and imaginative, in a kinda indirect way.

recently i read a novella called a short stay in hell, which is a about a guy sent to hell but hell is a massive library and to get out he needs to find the book with his life story in it. its not infinite, but its so massive it may as well be (not a spoiler its like in the intro of the book) and its made me look at time scales, whats a punishment and the concept of hell differently

cat’s craddle by kurt vonnegut gave me a deeper understanding of satire and how to interpret and appreciate satire.

just some off the top of my head

pimp by iceberg slim changed how i viewed employment and how employees are treated and how to escape that landscape, i read it after dave chapelle suggested it in a special.

how ot win friends and influence people helped me perceive/ctach the manipulative tactics people use in the professional world to seem charismatic to you when they want leverage. and also how to reject a lot of principales to be a more authentic person

if you were to only read one, read a short stay in hell. its very short, you can finsih it in like 2 hours. and i literally think about it everyday. book shook me to my core. its one of the best pieces of art ive ever consumed.

oh gotcha. Ive read some of that stuff too for univeristy classes and it’s important and helpful. but theres a lot of important information hidden in fictional books too, sometimes theyre even more information rich and certaintly not as a dry of a read as well
