I also think the mental health theme on ye is pretty overstated by people ngl it's only like present on a couple tracks, which is a lot tbf on a 7 track album but you know.....

i thought she was in a permanent psychosis after not that she says it went away. she wouldve needed a diagnoses like during that moment then. i havent been following the case at all, i find it too disturbing to read about tbh, it upsets me and i dont needs it energy in my life. i dont mind chatting about it casually here for a few minutes. but i cant be spending hours reading that crap u know

I think both Donda and MR MORALE tackled grief and healing and trauma in different ways, which is cool I enjoy both albums bc of it. Obviously they dont unpack these topics the same just bc their egos manifest in such different ways but it's a theme I noticed

Like we need to accept that some people are broken enough to commit atrocities and unsalvageable. It is what it is.

Yeah you can't be absolutely certain, but I do know that if she gets off on insanity, she's not walking free for at least multiple years. Insanity plea pretty much universally leads to long-term institutionalization, and they don't just release you after they think you've passed some test for sanity. It's a whole other multi stepped, long term transition process as far as I'm aware.

But I'm not gonna sit here and act like I have the qualifications to assess what her risk level will look like when/if that day comes. If she truly was insane, then the concern for safety and punishment goes both ways. Throwing her into prison instead of a ward seems cruel and morally incorrect if she genuinely didn't make the choice to kill out of her own free will, even if we grant that she should be locked up somewhere forever. Not that psych wards are sunshine and rainbows by any means, so maybe that would actually be crueler. I get it may seem silly to be discussing fair treatment of a child killer, but I guess in my head, in the case that she was actually psychotic, the agent that committed the murders was not the same free agent that will be enduring the punishment.

Edit: just saw ur post about how the murders happened years ago and that shes not psychotic now. I have no clue what the protocols look like in that scenario but I still find it hard to believe that there wouldn't be any sort of post-trial evaluation.
