i think people are spoiled with how nintendo console launches usually go.

64 had mario 64, the first real 3d game

gamecube sunshine came out like a year and some change later. and it launched with luigi’s mansion. which nowadays people view it as a sideline series, but at the time ti was the first luigi game and it was HYPE (gc was a flop financially though, to the point where nintendo decided to stop being the world leaders in graphics/gpu power on their consoles, which was their strategy with gamecube)

wii had wii sports, which had everyone clammering to try it because it was so fun hd novel

i dont remember the wii u launch titles and it flopped as a console

switch had odyssey (one of the best games ever made) and BOTW (one of the best games ever made)

at the time an open world zelda was the game everyone dreamed out,

switch 2 had mk world, whihc i LOVE but is controversial for valid reasons. bananza, which i havent played and heard was extremely good. but not giga classic liek odyssey. and then like kirby air riders which is niche but the best games on the console. and it had metroid 4 which i havent played yet even tho i own it but apparently it was made by the same guy who ruined paper mario hd thats why its not that good. but i will try it anyway!

my point is the switch 2 just doesnt have the first party heavy hitters other nintendo console does, despite having a huge backlog library and more indie games. playing silk song on my switch 2 was fanastic

If you can't feel excited about things without a massive push from the rest of society u probably just suck I'm ngl

3ds was a flop for nintendo, but the guts of that thing for the time was excellent because it had to be able to run the gme twice at the same time apparently. so when u turned that s*** off it got powerful. later 3ds also had a second joystick for the camera.

I agree, the switch generation was insane and nobody can deny that. Still have a massive backlog of games I'll be going through for a long time. Just due to the sheer accessibility of everything that's in there, the s2 is the goat console and will only get better

Oh yea they got ballsy with that launch price, which looked even more offensive in retrospect after the slashed the MSRP so heavily

But I was just a tot when I got one so it didn’t matter to me

Think that was the first console I got within one year of launch

But I’m glad I didn’t have the latest and greatest when I was suuuper young, because it meant I got to get acquainted with gameboy advance and GameCube because it was old and cheap at the time

the second one was fun to d*** around in on the 3ds back in the day when u were bored, but it was intended ot be a full fledged console game like LM 1. it ws much more arcadey-collectathon.

probably just gonna buy whatever console Nintendo makes for the foreseeable future, there's usually enough there for me by the end and I feel like the switch ecosystem will be their home for a long time

they'd have to make something really stupid or bad, like knock them out of the console market forever for me to hop off

I never listened to their music because they are really out there killing people. listening to music about them doing I find really disturbing. I dont like music that glorifies black death,

i do think people need to keep making the music that reflects the world around them and I dont think violence in movies, videogames or music encourages real world violence. thats a dumb ass take, that was super republican coded against videogames and movies in the 90s.

but nowadays its left people who think the music makes people violent and republicans are screaming about free speech

like surely its the very complex socioeconomic factors and institutional racism causing people to be violent, not f***ing hip hop.

HOWEVER my issue with music like durks, is how those tragedies he raps about, are treated in the mainstream , espcialy by white guys. who glorify it and treat black people dying as disposable entertainment.

it has a important place in art and our current cultural history, but its being treated inappropriately.
