Jay-Z eventually got the hit making formula down on Vol 2 but man it was rough before that.
Biggie was special. He made s*** that could be enjoyed by the hardest dudes and the casuals. Nothing felt like a forced radio hit when it came to him.
Diddy helped a lot
i had absolutely no clue you hated frank this much
lowkey accurate af tho
nah don't hate frank at all, love CO and really like blonde
just think whenever his crazy little stans call him an all time talent, I laugh because u can look at anything he does in isolation and find fault with all of it EXCEPT production
Nah RD still his best album with the best highs

you weren't a high school senior/college sophomore in 2016 crippled with social anxiety and depression so naturally u wouldn't think it was the new testament

Diddy helped a lot
He contributed but he couldn’t quite ever replicate the perfect formula without Biggie. A huge part of it comes from Biggies talent as well. Had a great ear and knew what work and what didn’t.
He tried with Mase and Shyne but neither one had it like BIG did.
Justify My Thug
Love that song
People love to say that American Gangster is a classic but the only track people talk is Ignorant S***
More tracks need more love
