But the all smiles, them starting a conversation/"check in", or the customer needs to be like patted type of attitude has always been weird to me - or like people that hire a person and then just watch them the whole time, they're doing all this work and you just "lounging" in their face idk how that isnt seen as rude or whatever

Guess the way I look at it is like with a regular person, nothing else attached, they should feel how they feel as long as it isn't being put on me or taken out on me

And they can express theyre having a bad day, even directly to me +which has happened before), but as long as you're not like putting me as the fault or it's effecting our communication/ the job then overall it's cool

They can do basic hello I'm here to work communicating while still looking mad or whatever, I don't need them to be a doll, or some 60s idealized worker propaganda compliance

Every time I have a worker at my home I just let them, say basic pleasentries, then let them do their thing

If it's a job thatll take a while I'll just check on em every now and then and ask if everything is cool or if I can do sumn to make things easier or whatever

Ironically that's usually what will root into a personal convo they'll personally strike up, of me just trying let them be the self by themselves

Same with store workers or table workers, I'm not making a convo unless they do, im not really doing outside of basic introductory pleasentries

The people hiring the people should be allowed to be mean to the worker as well "ok whatever just fix my door" that type of thing

I think we would all gain strength from not expecting kindness from everyone and learning how to deal with that in a way that doesn't go against the law
