as sad as this song is now and everything that surrounds it, it couldn't have been a better sendoff

So It Goes probably top 10 mac for me. sums up everything perfectly. it won't always be good but thats okay. you'll lose ur balance but thats fine. you just gotta keep going till its over.

exactly. gives me the same feeling as Nirvana's all apologises in the sense of it being a fitting but unintentional goodbye.

swimming really just grew to become on of my favorite albums oat by now.
been living with it for 2 years now and his death obviously impacted everything big time but even the month before i knew it was something special with that one.

some of these 2017/2018 tracks have been really dark. Sunday, G-Wagon & Completely Transparent are some of the saddest but yet very well written moments he ever had. they are very direct and honest like faces but the perspective is completely different. Its not him hiding away in his studio from the world going stir crazy its now him living in the world thats making him go crazy.

remember so vividly my best friend texting me “you hear about mac?” And i thought he dropped a new song or something. I was on my way to work, i hadda turn around and just drive. I couldnt even go in. Swimming was really there for me that fall, and was going thru so much personally that his death hit me like some bricks.

Ill never forget the first time i heard mac too. Senior skip day music video. just unreal how much he & his music mean to me.

i played this version of the song soooo many times( even have the video saved on my phone just in case they take it down some day) but by the time the studio version leaked and the song officially made it onto circles later on, i just couldn't shake the feeling that this is still the superior version, its so raw man so beautiful...

yall were sharing stories in another thread but I guess that ones inactive. I remembered I gotta post later when im off work

throughout the decade I knew who Mac Miller is; I heard some of his songs, I knew his famous left turn in the sound of his music, he had quite a few fans, he had music reviewers all around his albums... still, I didn't listen to him up until the beginning of 2018. in short I liked what I heard, stayed bumping his music, that was just a bit early before he got in that car crash and started his Swimming rollout.

when Swimming came out I liked it a lot and I remember when it felt like nobody cared for it: I still remember those 'swimming underrated (in whatever drop that was bc 2018 was crazy every week)' posts from hip-hop pages. sounds crazy now but I do remember that for sure

then he died and I really didn't feel anything, was just bummed and very surprised. then as I heard more of his music, watched more of his interviews/shows and realized who he was, as I talked to more fans of his music I realized how bigger than a lot of things he is. I like his music a lot and I only wish I gave it proper time way earlier.

for some reason I go back to this song a lot
