Rick's Piano is a very different song than Submarines

I would imagine if theres a song where Mac is singing over Rick Rubin playing piano it’s gonna be “Rick’s Piano” and not “Shangri La” lol

Saying “it shouldn’t be released” and that labels need to stop with “posthumous releases” I knew it was bound to happen at some point

Oh damn. I have seen the complete opposite, that this is how it should be done and that everyone involved should be proud for honouring Mac’s catalog so far in such a careful and respectful way

It’s crazy cause the estate basically explained that this was a finished album (nearly finished) that Mac wanted out and people still finding a way to complain

Some people replied saying that and explaining this project which helps but overall some people just don’t know

Yeah likely, both songs confirmed to be on a later version of balloonerism Mac was working on. Would line up around the time he was at Rick Rubin’s house

Honestly I’m fine if don’t get this officially. Besides the name value I haven’t really felt many of the maclib leaks outside of a few tracks.

A majority of its already leaked and it seems madlib wants to put artists on songs that weren’t already there originally to make them sound more finished which I can personally do without.

can someone make the list of the leaked/known tracks from maclib sessions?

Last time I updated sometime mid-late last year this is how I had it. Don’t know if anything else leaked after that time.

Disc 1 is the og maclib tracklist. Disc 2 is songs that were intended for maclib that were cut or recorded after the og tracklist.

Worth noting og tracklist is very rough so don’t think it’s close to what might be officially released.
