But I always thought both parts of his name were terms of endearment in Haitian inflection.. like when he says ‘Ayo Mach’ could be an interpolation on ‘man’ just like mon in patois. Hommy could be the same, like my friends called each other Hommy before any of us knew of him

I thought it was like “mass murder”, like “mach” as in “greater” not “faster”. I’m sure part of it is he’s just out here killing s***, haha, but it also ties in with some of the themes of his music (namely systematic violence and oppression).
