Over recent years I've grown more annoyed with soundbites in Hip Hop. Whether it be from cliche gangster/drug movies or whatever meme is popular at the time, I wish rappers would stop using them. This is probably the main reason why I have Dumpmeister as the best Mach project. Niggas is strickly rapping. No time for fillers

Mach uses them very well imo but ik what you mean

Very fair. Mach definitely knows how to use them. Griselda too imo (though Gunn has been leaning too much on skits recently). Ka is also a master at using them

If they’re tastefully incorporated and actually interesting, then they’re dope.

Listened to some of his stuff. The beats aren’t bad. The rapping is thankfully not Mach-ish but still kind of eh.

    Can you elaborate please

revenge is everywhere in Shakespeare's plays. Hamlet, Othello, Macbeth just to name a few are all revolving around revenge. there are numerous studies, articles and I would imagine even books on that theme in his works, something that I found off a quick google search:
    nosweatshakespeare.com/play-themes/revenge

I think woods saying 'Shakespearean vengeance' on a record was a moment I put him in my top 5 of all time from there on out

billy is officially up there with Mach and Ka for me now. Is anyone else really writing like these three?

I said in the woods thread a few days ago that I think I prefer him to Mach now. feels weird to think

And nah, those three, imo, are writing to a different degree than anyone. I’d argue Roc’s up there too.

I think Ka, Mach, Roc, Billy and MIKE are top 5 best in Hip Hop. Period.

The Earls, Kendricks etc. don't release nearly the amount of classics as this bunch

I agree with all of this except the MIKE inclusion I personally don’t think he’s as refined/talented/interesting a writer as any of those you mentioned. He is amazing tho

I feel that. To me, MIKE is only 21 and has not only created a movement, but also has influenced his idols and peers. I listen to him and the sLUms more than anyone besides Mach & Roc.
