I didn't know they had a falling out. I've been listening to this series podbay.fm/p/what-had-happened-was/e/1592571600 where Paul talks thru his discography with Open Mike Eagle and he doesn't speak ill of RZA there.

I think Paul had always wanted it to be 1 and done; he formed the group to platform these dudes who were in the dumps (RZA was just out of jail, Frukwan was depressed) and it took them 3 years after the demo to put it out

its bizarre to me that vinyl pre-orders are the standard practice now. very few people sell physicals that ship when the album drops, only ones who have that together are alchemist, ankhlejohn and crimeapple. everyone else (going thru lowtech, de rap winkel, fxckrxp, tuff kong) is like "vinyls ship in 12 weeks"

vinyl is notoriously a complicated process but labels should have it figured out by now. Certain underground collectives have been just as productive pressing and shipping wax during COVID. I doubt it’s nature sounds’ fault it’s probably a distributor thing, nevertheless they’ve had ample time to get acclimated to pandemic conditions and the demand is higher than ever so I doubt it’s a money problem
