Right? It feels like over high energy production he thrives

Why y'all think Mach leaves beats playing for over a minute sometimes? I've been thinking maybe it's cause Mach wants fans to have those instrumentals and they can't get them any other way. Like Ron Van Clief, the beat is super weird rhythmically, is it a stretch to say that extra minute is there so the fans can try to rap over it themselves? 6x from Luh Hertz has unusual production too. Rolf Beeler is kinda standard though

Idk. He’s not the first rapper to do that though. MF doom did a lot iirc
I think he just does it if he really likes the way the beat sounds by itself without rapping. Sort of like paying respects to the beat, if that makes sense.

I’m paraphrasing but in part of the WKJ interview he said “I ain’t got time to kick it and freestyle with you. You should have caught me ten years ago.”

in my experience when you send beats they usually just rap over it as is and won't extend/shorten it. it could be in the case of tracks like xxxxxx that the producer sent this long cut and mach just fit what he was doing to that

sometimes U dead just gotta let that s*** breath
mach doesn’t seem like a dude that cares to have his fans having a clean loop to make remixes with or recreate beats but wat do I know
xxxxxx beat is so interesting to me idc he let it breathe so long. It makes you think bout the song and lyrics more

I think it has to do with his image and presence on songs. sometimes it feels like he literally 'enters' the beat to leave a verse, f*** around and then get out. so in a sense the beat feels like it was 'always there' and mach is kinda in and out of everything. idk if it makes sense but to me he gives off exactly that specific weird (in a good sense) feeling

My least favourite thing about Luh Hertz tbh. That beat gives me a headache the second those drums come in and just feels like it goes on forever.

Word? That’s fair. It’s really odd. But that’s why I gravitate to it

Yeah is an odd beat, just a little too static and rough to me, always found it grating. Be interested to know if I am in the minority on that
