Thats the problem most of us here think Mach does it better than almost anyone. I'll be listening to HBO in 5, 10 , 15 years like I'll be listening to madvillain or any of my favorite albums. For all his fans hes not gonna fizzle out, doesnt this whole argument and everyone here arguing you prove you wrong? We'll probably still be here even if Mach doesnt drop in 5 years he already has classic projects we consistently go back to. Youre disrespecting Mach here thats why everyone disrespects sky right now

Who's being disrespected? What artists getting offended? Who's out here signing to labels and losing control of their art and losing out on charging whatever they think it's worth?

I'm sure his contemporaries see the value of what he does. He has a product, he's clearly in it for the bag, and he can sell it for so much knowing it'll sell out, and that people really revere his work.

I personally could never see myself paying so much for music, but if it works and people enjoy it, who really is suffering from that?

Look in here at the way people talk about a dude like Skyzoo. I'm not a stan but honestly it's pretty disrespectful. I've seen Mach fans really disrespecting a lot of legends. I'm generalizing for sure but it reminds me of the Def Jux/Anticon nerds circa 03. Such entitlement for their little niche and such disrespect for everything outside it. And like I keep saying let's see where we're at in five years or more. I'm sure a few of y'all will still be bumping his music but I personally think it'll be a phase. Don't underestimate longevity in this game. If some of y'all quick to disrespect a dude like Skyzoo then y'all would also be quick to disrespect a hell of a lot of other dudes who have achieved that consistency and longevity.

What I will say is that projects like FYI, HBO, and Wapp Konn Joj have so much replay value for me. I been tuned in to HBO for like 3 years and still get so much out of that record. Mach is a quality quality artist

But it could also turn out to be largely true though? I'm just saying that everyone can enjoy what they want, but reserve the crazy "goat" talk etc until the dust has settled. The reaction I've received, particularly in relation to Skyzoo (who oddly seems to have become the subplot in this conversation when really he represents one of many) has only served to reinforce my opinion that Mach fans, in a lot of cases, don't have the broader understanding, appreciation or experience of a wide variety of hip-hop and it's causing tunnel vision in their view of him. But don't get it twisted I'm not putting all of y'all into that category, especially not you my brother.

Yeah but it's not about that. I mean it's not that I mind them not knowing, s*** we all can't know all the music out there so we're all sleeping on something. It's more the arrogance of Mach fans, which I can accept because dudes like to ride for an artist they connect with, but compounded by straight disrespect by saying things like "your ears ain't working if you prefer Sky to Mach" etc. It's type funny to speak like that and I ain't with none of it.

Nah. I f***s with Sky but I can see why he wouldn't be for everybody. But trying to suggest these Al Divino, Mach-Hommy type dudes are superior is nonsense. There's plenty artists I don't mess with but my respect for them is high. Too many of these Bandcamp $1000 artists are hiding away behind gimmicks and y'all too linear to realise it yet. That's all. Thing is I can't prove any of this, I get that. I'm talking into the future here. I think a couple of y'all may be questioning the gimmick, I think a lot more of y'all will be in time. And I think in 2025 your view of an artist like Mach compared to an artist like Skyzoo will have shifted hugely. I've seen it plenty before and I'm going to see it again.

But Roc and KA have performed plenty, just maybe not so much since all the new jacks caught on. Those dudes solidified their status way before 2010 when it ain’t no shortcuts, no gimmicks, no hacks.
