And yea I have heard all of Benny’s albums (I actually love TT2), I just kinda associate him w the grimy sound because it seems like that was where he was gonna land for good artistically.
Still I think what he’s doing now is a lot broader than the “Griselda sound,” like he just went full mainstream rapper. Which is cool, but not what I personally enjoy. He’s successful as s*** tho so good on him
i dont disagree with him being more mainstream but i just dont agree with "full"
none of these mainstream rappers in Benny's age group would put out a song like "No Instructions" or "One Way Flight" in 2021 even if theyre comparatively polished for a Griselda record and they especially wouldn't do it for a majority of an album

May 15, 2021Marcus is DustAnza and Scatter Brain are both great songs (outside of the Luda verse) imo. Conway can get in that bag, but it’s only cool to me when it’s one-off. La Maquina was boring af cause it was all that sound outside of that (mid) Alc beat and tired ass outro beat.

TVT didn't sound rushed, rather forced. The man did five projects in a 12 month span.
I think it sounds kinds rushed too. They could have developed that sound much better, I've heard many better beats from JV then those on the album/tape.

benny's sound has not switched up that much tbh bro
outside of a couple trap records on each of his last couple projects they're still much more similar to the "classic" griselda sound than they are to being pop or mainstream
and if you've listened to benny's whole discography then you'd see that tana talk 3 and plugs 1 are the major outliers and not the other way around

May 15, 2021·edited·1 replyMerch looks like garbage ngl with the exception of the lemonade everything's the same as every Griselda merch drop exact same shades of blue, yellow, and orange with the same square album cover just dropped in the middle with no effort to make it fit in, block capitals, sprinkle a few scorpions or 187s. Marginally more work put into the Haiti university thing but it really is marginal.
Cool to see west collabing with purple tho on the gxfr jeans they're actually a quality brand w somewhat reasonable prices but the design still boring af
