mach would kill me for listening this yt nigga explain haitian history but as a nigga going to paris to study this s*** i had to share it, feel free to insult me / avi post me in the quotes
!https://youtu.be/c-0j9fZRtmoI think Mach would definitely f*** with this guy’s stance that if you don’t know Haitian history then you don’t know world history.
where’s this smh sound like sadhu too https://www.instagram.com/p/CPBPfnBhJnv/?utm_medium=copy_link
Hopefully Hitler 8
That’s honestly what I’m expecting.
idc put him on every song like that jay elec album and let him renegade it so i can call it pray for haiti deluxe like they called awt 4:44 deluxe
I think Mach would definitely f*** with this guy’s stance that if you don’t know Haitian history then you don’t know world history.
oh for a fact, that line made me know he was the real deal
been studying aime cesaire so imma check out that play
Dude is thorough. Can't really compare him to anyone really. Sort of like if Greil Marcus wrote essays on Hip Hop in video form
Do you have any examples that you think are great from Greil marcus I like to read well written reviews and thinkpieces. A lot of people try to write them but only few are good at it.

Personal interest or academia?
don’t think he’d f*** with him calling it crime rap
that’s the yt in him he can’t help it
Personal interest or academia?
my personal interests dictate what i’m studying so both
i wouldn’t say my degree is strictly caribbean studies but it’s def a key part of it
that’s the yt in him he can’t help it
i’ll blame it on the fact he a professor and isn’t really someone who is as well versed as us
Didn’t hate this. I think Feefo just pivoted into that inane Griselda Records discussion because he was feeling left out, haha. But there’s still absolutely no excuse for them missing the entirety of 2017.
Glad DEHH didn’t even mention the Steez line, but I guess it’s because they’re adults and understand that it’s not a diss.
i’ll blame it on the fact he a professor and isn’t really someone who is as well versed as us
nah he’s actuallly very well versed thats the issue
yt ppl who feel like / are scholars of black culture make broad generalizations to get points across. part of it is the nature of lectures so it’s not the biggest of deals. it’s a symptom of information being held hostage behind elite cultural institutions.
at best they’re just goofy, at worst they’re damaging misrepresentations.
the difference is they think it’s deeper than rap we know it’s deeper than rap u dig
my personal interests dictate what i’m studying so both
i wouldn’t say my degree is strictly caribbean studies but it’s def a key part of it
Sounds great to study the same thing you arr interested by, really lucky. Anything you would recommend to a Mach fan to read?

i am incredibly privileged and i thank the universe for putting me in this position.
it depends on what ur personal interests are but the best place to start is the black jacobins by clr james
google libgen. look up black jacobins. free pdf right there. it’s easy to navigate but if ur confused or can’t find hit hit me for the link.
black jacobins is what most ppl consider the definitive account of the haitian revolution and the professor nigga was not dragging it when he said “you don’t understand world history if you don’t understand haitian history” it will seriously change your world view
not a haitian scholar, but a major figure of the francophone diaspora, franz fanon is another author i can’t recommend enough if you’re new to these studies.
if you want poetic text that laments on the mature of violence read wretched of the earth.

Unless “Fanon” is his real last name, I can’t imagine August’s name isn’t a nod to this guy.
