i think the old suga would style on payton. he used to be so dynamic, creative, and would drown people. now he's kinda low volume, spams his spin feint and will walk backwards the entire time if he feels too much pressure. maybe he could crack payton but payton seems like a bit of a blockhead, i'd probably favor payton 60/40

Oh I agree, I think Payton would beat current Suga tbh (probably by a close decision). What I meant by not liking the callout was that there isn’t really an incentive for Suga to fight Payton rn. He’s most likely next up for the belt after Yan v Merab trilogy, so it wouldn’t make sense to take that fight. Payton has a lot of hype rn, but he’s also been inactive recently, I think he should’ve made a different callout to keep the momentum going. Just feels like he squandered a good opportunity.

  • contenders series started off pretty strongly but these last few weeks have been very mid. like yeah the finishes have been there but the quality of guys making it in just hasn't been impressive. there's maybe 1 guy a card that looks like they might be able to stay around lol

yeah, i thought zuffa was gonna come in and make a huge splash but now i expect it to fizzle out in a year or two. maybe it will still be around but it wont be a major player. i think eddie is right that dana and tko don't know what they're doing in boxing.

first they wanted to change the ali act and their proposal has gone through so many changes that its not even the same thing anymore. they didn't want to work with the established belt system but now they're forced to because actual top level boxers care about those belts. and turki's health problems (rumor is some brain disease) puts their financial future into question as well.

their initial idea was to come into boxing and reshape it into something like the ufc but the boxing order is too established to be molded into something new. i can't see them playing this game by these rules for the next 5,10,15 years to cement themselves as a serious player in boxing. once turki is gone, i think the money starts to dry up and they either exit completely or just become some middling promotion that banks on ufc fans tuning in on paramount+

I honestly think the whole thing has been very satisfying to watch honestly.

The fact that Dana would even try to do half the s*** he's been doing just shows how f***ing delusional, ignorant, narcissistic, and low IQ he is tbh. He genuinely thought he could just walk into boxing, copy paste the UFC model where he owns all the leverage, and bully an industry that's been running on free agency and sanctioning bodies for a century

Eddie called it from day one too, he knew that Dana would try to f*** over the Ali act. It was so cathartic watching Dana hit a brick wall the second he realized top tier boxers actually have leverage and care about real belts

Watching Eddie make Dana look like a b**** and a moron, especially during the build up to AJ vs Fury has honestly been entertaining than any UFC fight this year imo lol, I hope ts never ends

    Also f*** Turki
