    It's super cool
    Battery is nice

All of the current lineup (Live/Live 2/One/X) use the same software so the experience is the same across the board (except the Live doesn't have CV outputs/inputs, not necessarily unless you are controlling a bunch of modular gear).

I'd recommend it, I'll probably go travelling with just my MPC sometime in the future, I usually take it with me when I'm leaving the studio to visit family/friends in another city. Akai provides amazing software support, since I've gotten this device they've added loads of new features and instruments for free (multiple synths, a new drum machine, loads of new effects).

The only thing that really compares is the OP1 but obviously the Live is waaaay more powerful and has way more features.

I'm currently a DT 770 Pro user (plus I have monitors)
But I've been thinking about getting noise cancelling headphones for tracking (and listening in my own time) to help reduce fatigue. I won't mix with them, they'll only be used for when I'm recording ideas in.

Has anyone tried using their QC 35 ii/45s/Sony MX3/MX4/Airpods Max etc while recording?

(Obviously the more neutral sound of studio headphones is preferred but I like the fact I can listen at quieter level with noise cancelling headphones)

I’ve been using ableton my whole life. Can I record into ableton with it easily?
Also I’ve been feeling uninspired with mouse+keyboard workflow. Would MPC live help me break out of that? Is the workflow fun and creatively stimulating? And lastly, could you see yourself ditching a computer DAW for MPC Live?

    Thanks

I could never leave Ableton tbh
It's a different style of beat making.

But the beats you make on the MPC can easily be exported into Ableton as the beats can be exported as ALS (same format as an Ableton beat).
Or you can run the MPC software as a VST in Ableton and export it via that.

It could be inspiring tbh, Ableton has you using a mouse and learning keyboard shortcuts whereas with this you're build muscle memory and interact with the device in a different way.

While I enjoy the MPC and also see myself eventually buying an old school MPC in the future, I would never ditch Ableton, alot of things are eaiser to do in Ableton.

I've barely tried Studio One for more than a few minutes, it seems quite different to Ableton.

Although I am looking to get to grips with Bitwig, Reason & Studio One (eventually).
