Pads are goated dont wanna hear opinions to the contrary
pads can be fire af but for the most part theyre best for layering. like if im starting from scratch i probably wont mess with pads unless i wanna make a super dark melody, i rarely start with chords not cus its bad i just prefer to start with more creative/weird sounds
Should I get a MacBook to get into producing / making beats?
Not sure where to start and what MacBook would be a good place to start and which MacBook is “good enough”
Or should I use a PC?
Any pointers / videos would be much appreciated
^ also a recommended program to use?
I always see people say it don’t matter what computer or program you use. As long as you talented, you can make something on anything
But idk I want some opinions on here to start

Macbooks are very popular but not rly necessary, idk the technical details but i imagine with a good pc youll be fine. I have a $1400 windows laptop and its fine for 99% of projects except for rly rly big ones. You definitely want a good processor and 16gb ram
As for DAWs you can either experiment with different ones or just go with FL studio. If you're planning on doing a lot of audio engineering or recording id go with ableton. Some would say that you might as well start with ableton since its more capable in some aspects (audio stretching, automation, recording), which is also debatable because fl studio is better at certain things too but at the end of the day youll be able to do whatever you want in either DAW for the most part
hope this helps and if anyone else wants to chime in thatd be great
holy s*** my drum game is slacking rn

nexus
electrax
pigments
serum (i dont personally use this but its probably the most popular synth rn)
ANA
then theres the arturia collection, its pretty big/expansive in terms of number of synths but youll find a lot of gold there. the sounds arent that modern tho

Arturia has packs you can buy with more modern sounds in them right? I may give Xpand2 a shot also.
What would you say are the most modern?

Been trying to spread the word on this new resource for sample digging. Basically tinder for samples with genre/year filtering

Cool, I'll look into those.
man fl studio automation sucks
lets say u have an effect on a track, if u automate the on/off button for that effect then change whichever effect was in that slot u will NEVER know what parameter the automation clip controls (cus u deleted the original effect that occupied that slot) its a f***ing mess
I feel like the most important thing for good music is jus having love in ur heart
That's y I hate forcing this s***. Idc if u make 30 beats a day if u don't rly love this s*** u wasted ur whole day. Idc if u even place them s***s u ain't on the same level as the ones who do this for love
