Got some fire beats atm but if the sample ain't got a bass already I'm scared to add one

    Hey, KTT2!

My name is Manny Bravo, and I am a rapper/producer from Florida.

I really liked the rapping and minimalism of “Everybody” by Ye, so I made something similar.

My new song “My Type” is out now!

Let’s say I want to sequence an album on my phone while I’m at work

What’s the most efficient iPhone app for this?

The only app I’ve ever used is koala

Edit: f*** it bought the FL app

Side Note: holy f*** AI makes this thread a dystopia now. For the past 3 weeks this s*** is getting crazier & crazier do not go down the AI rabbithole.

I could generate content alone for the sample this thread and then turn out a beat faster than my post is read with content art. I haven't even tried pushing the visual / video generators yet.

S*** is crazy. Dark Times out now.

Facts and we don’t even notice cause it just sounds good. The simplest beats usually have the most replay value.

As a producer once you learn to stop trying to impress other producers that’s when you’ll make the best music ever and impress them the most funny enough.

Crazy how using samples might be the only way to tell if someone isn’t using AI. And back then people looked at samples like it was AI go figure 😂

I been out of music production for a while but I hear niggas really using AI to make beats now?

Is it actually good or is it overhyped like when people said ChatGPT was gonna put developers out of a job?

I don’t know anything about music production, but in visual art and other areas, ChatGPT and stuff isnt going to put people out of a job today. It’s in 10-20 years kinda thing. Also Im sure ai will replace a lot of stuff, but art isnt going to be one of them. Art is the expression of people and a computer’s expression isnt that. You could argue its the self expression of the programmers, but its a much further removed from them than other mediums. It will be used as a tool to help in the process im sure, and in that respect it’s probably already being used. I think some programmers, General practitioner doctors, accountants that figure out taxes and stuff are going to be the first to be 80% replaced by AI.

So as a developer when Chat GPT first came out everyone was panicking about how it was going to put developers out of jobs, turns out though that it really struggles to take in context well which in turn means it can only solve the simplest of problems. Majority of businesses have huge codebases that even developers themselves can’t comprehend, I don’t see AI really ever being able to comprehend the behemoth of a disaster that development is sometimes

Basically I felt like the concern - “AI will replace X” comes from non developers that don’t understand how complex and nuanced the field is. I do use Chat GPT daily to solve really simple and tedious tasks though.

In terms of music it’s just a sentiment I have seen lately, and I was wondering if this is another scenario of novices or people outside of the field making comments about things they have no clue about.

I agree with your post though, if anything I feel like it will somewhat replace some roles at the entry level

As time goes on I see AI and GPT more as a tool to help out people who aren’t in a position to hire an assistant. So ignore all the "purists” and just use it as your assistant, tell it to do all the mundane tasks people usually need to do by hand that gets in the way of actually creating but that just my take on it. I imagine it differs with everyone.

This is valid now but everything I'm looking at is in the future , when ai deals with tech advancements and quantum computing.

There's no legislation on a lot of things AI, so it's a gold rush, once systems get put in place which for 5 years in tech now can be entirely shifting, I definitely see a shift in everything. Do more research on other software too GPT is not the only Titan it's the most accessible.

As for music I should prolly just upload a throwaway sample or find something.

    udio.com/songs/ur4TkgFmAPymn2jaUiLaxF

This AI mightve been trained on material that is questionable. It's also the reason for BBL Drizzy.

    That sucks.

I've always used Distrokid, so I've never really had that problem.

YouTube will sample snitch like it did in the video below, but that's about it.
