Thank you so much
is keyscape worth it
Idk how much it costs (I pirated it) but it’s p much the only piano vst I use. Umm, I think there are better sounding pianos on kontakt. There were a few I wanted to buy during their black friday deal but forgot to.
Great selection of keys, I like it. Would recommend

kontakt has a great grand piano and some good electric piano sounds too.
Also, if you're really into that rhodes sound, there's Lounge Lizard EP-4 that has a variety of different rhodes.
So I got FL studio n s***, but don't know where to go from here.
I've always played around with it, but never made anything too crazy.
I want to eventually learn how to make some early travis scott type stuff. Where to I start?
Also how important is actually learning music theory and sound design?

you can just start off without really knowing music theory or sound design. (dont really know what the latter really does)
but music theory imo can really expand the musicality of your production. learning chords and notes alone can really make your stuff stand out from the average bear tbh.

You can go years without learning music theory (basics ain’t that hard to learn) if you have a great ear and just pencil in your s***. A lot of producers don’t know proper music theory. Sound design isn’t that necessary unless you really wanna make your own sounds. Just get good at sound selection and processing existing sounds to make em sound different. Start remaking your fav travis scott beats and make a bunch of s***

Odd that theirs no artist thread in general, but if you want A little insight on how the industry works Then I’ll put you onto a little game, As far as these executive egos are Behind the scenes. If anyone thinks I’m lying I can provide receipts.

Not the only way in the slightest. Get to know ppl around your local scene (if you got one) or digitally, get to genuinely know folx around places you frequent a lot (soundcloud, still a good place to see a lot of talented unknowns actually genuinely looking to collab with producers, now obviously you conversate to determine if they on some shady s*** or not)
But just get to know niggas. If you have a local scene around (or if you’re somewhere like a college) it’s definitely a lot easier (and mutually beneficial) if you get to know/listen to some one or some people that catch your eye that you might wanna work with. Its almost kinda like you looking for a relationship, except you playing wingman for your homie (‘homie‘ being your beats)
And this why i dont call it ‘networking’ cause have it be genuine s*** tho. Whoever catches your eye aint obligated to work wit you cause you said hi.
Ayo brothers, I need advices about my last project: youtu.be/if19LPycJLU
I think the bass and 808 are way too loud compared to the melodies but I’m not sure, I don’t have any good equipement to listen and compare
Thanks

thanks for this bro, i was really having trouble thinking about how i’d try and market myself out here, i actually do have a local music management group in my city and my friend told me he’d take me over there to showcase my beats to the manager, they always have artists working at their studio too

aye, however you can get your foot in the door, that's how you do it.
It also helps (as someone that does this) when more producers just say f it and do they own music, that's how I made some connections was through some friends on campus hearing my own stuff. Also, posting lil beattapes on bandcamp.
Not really for producers but more for ppl interested in digital music marketing but
