Still not a big fan of sampling tbh
I think it’s dope but still not something I wanna include in my music rn
I’d do it but clearing samples is a headache so I ain’t doin that no more
flipping samples > writing melodies
I know some music theory but all my melodies end up sounding the same
I like flipping samples because of the variation in velocities and humanization of it

That too

no reason to bother clearing your stuff if you flip it well enough tbh
Chop out the bits u like and try to arrange a vibe over 4 bars

i mean those same people you're sampling wrote melodies
you can humanize anything if u know what you're doing
idk why y'all are worried about not clearing samples
If you're not Timbaland in 2002 it doesn't matter

Hide your samples
I'll write about this in detail after my exams
Hiding samples isn't hard. Just don't use the original melody.
Chop out bits that work from completely different parts of the track
Rearrange them. Fade stuff in and out, filter it. Pitch stuff differently, stretch it, frequency shift, convolution reverb, record a bigass reverb and reverse it.
Just avoid taking the entire guitar riff from a Sting record

But imagine if it blows up and you have to give 90% of the song to the people who made it like juice wrld? Also don’t they have algorithms that detect if a sample has been used?
Edit: made before the new posts
Did you move to the next round in the tournament? I ain’t check the results
Damn my boy kay lost too
only matters if that song blows up tbh
Thats what i try telling my friend. Like bro, put whatever you want on streaming so more eyes can get on it. You only have to worry about samples if it blows up, which is a good thing anyway.
Hes so dumb he really thinks people care enough about his music to sue
