I've been looking for high quality go-to recordings for a long time to try and sample drums, it's difficult to find any except off of Chuck Brown albums

Since it's live party music, a lot of the recordings are from shows. Even big songs (such as bait) were chopped from live sets.

You won't find gogo vsts or anything.

Sample brass sections from songs. If you listen to gogo you'll notice a guys with trombones and trumpets playing different notes in the same scale with a similar rhythm to create a call/response with the drums. It'd be hard to create the same vibe 100% in the box without sampling.

what about bounce beat, where they actually use synth brass/ brass sample hits from like the 90s or something? You can hear it at the beginning and throughout the entire song

its going to be hard to actually get a clean sample from these videos

I'd go look through some reaction band pictures and try to figure out what kind of keyboard they use. Then look for samples of it

is there a way to hold down a key to draw 1 /8 hi hats and then press another one to draw 1/16 hi hats in ableton as a way to make hihats patterns live? I don't if I make sense

Idk if you can make a hot key for that

In the piano roll you can right click to bring up the menu and choose from 1/8 1/16 etc

You can also highlight a section and then you can squeeze it with the lil piano roll timeline
