Bro i sampled a sampha song and people love that s*** and idk how imma do that s*** but i had a teacher whos been in the industry for years and he said if they sue you that means you made it and if they dont sue you that means that nobody cared so sometimes you want to get that lawsuit

sounds smooth. Instead of sampling a song, Ill just make a sample myself that has the same vibe of that song.

but i wanna try rerecording samples by myself, sampling my own voice and pitching it for chops and such

Same most of the time when i sample I’ll manipulate the f*** out of it plus by doing that it opens up what you have to sample by so much because you can just use some s*** that doesnt doesnt even sound that good and make it sound great and completely different and not just be looking for loops that sound good

Nah it wasnt a formal school so it wasnt long but it was a school ran directly be people in the industry. It was basically one of the biggest studios had their own school and their engineers taught

Find your sound by experimenting as much as you can. Try different stuff and listen to different music and take inspiration from what you love and you’ll have your own sound. That’s what i worried about a lot and i didn’t know how to do it but you don’t really look for it or find it you kinda just end up there. I went to trying to make beats like drake at first and now the one thing that i get is that what i make is different than anything else so it’s weird because you don’t want to do what everyone else is doing but you also want to do what everyone else is doing. Just dont follow trends only do what you love most
