This is my second best beat I've made so far. Just redid it recently with harder drums and some more texture
Ayyeee i f*** with it. One thing id add tho is to mix up the velocities of the hats to give it more of a groove and makes it more humanized and maybe play around with the hat patterns too on the part where it goes up in tempo

I have this one artist the I love to sample for vocals, Zola Jesus. Always comes thru
This one of my fav tracks to sample from her (I used it in the small part of that beat)

Her s*** is fye highkey underrated
I got this beat called peace i could really hear her on
not her type of s*** but id kill to get her as a feat
I made this in march last year i never got to really go and mix it tho (especially that kick it needs some milk) i might actually go and do that right now actually
edit: link works now
I f*** with it best one you’ve made imo
ty ty took inspiration from memphis beats (took the drum pattern from some underground s***) and wanted to be on some rza - flying birds
I’ve been trying to make my beats use as little sounds as possible right now

Not in person but we’ve had conversations tho

Might as well show you this one too
I primarily used granular synths for this one
I should go back to using em

Yeah I feel that. Logic has a velocity randomizer I can mess around with.
Thanks bro!

I recommend doing it by hand so you have more control over what you want out of it

Great mixing and I love the beat switch. Super atmospheric, like a retro John carpenter movie or sum s***

Tbh idk if i could go off this one tbh but in terms of systhesis do whatever you personally like. The music you make is supposed to be of your taste not anyone else’s so i cant answer that question for you. But this beat tho no offense but just to be truthful nothing in there is at all in tune but ive seen you make things that were in tune tho so i know you can do it but it’s something you really need to pay attention to its the most important factor
