    LOL that s*** got removed.

But in all seriousness its a combination of changing the pitch, tempo, adding chorus, isolating the bass and making it stronger, and adding claps and stuff. Oh yeah, and sidechaining everything to the kick.

Its actually really easy, song selection is key though. You have to pick songs that are in 4/4 time and slower tempo.

inspiration is like you hear something or watch something and it inspires you to do something in a similar vein. like if i watched bladerunner and i got inspired by the scenery i may try to make a song that fits them moods n colors.

or like after hearing a charli album, ill try incorporating over the top pop leads / synths.

biting is like you just try mimicking someone's else's song / sound without much variation or originality added on top of it.

but starting out, i think its okay to just bite people's music you adore because it'll shape your sound eventually.

i think part of growing as an artist is outgrowing your influences sleeves. when they come off

One option is to study your influences influences. For example I'm extremely influenced by Kaytranada. Some of my s*** is really good but is so clearly influenced by him. Most people wont notice, but I notice because I'm OCD.

So for example I could study Neo Soul in general, the chord progressions, broken drum beats, etc, instead of just using Kaytra's sound selection. He's inspired by Dilla, Justice, and Madlib so I can learn a lot from them too.

But I'd really just say to make what feels good to you. Whatever requires the least amount of thought always works out the best.
