Probably dropping out of the contest. Too mentally exhausted from everything to be able to work on music at a competitive level right now
ableton is fire
ableton allows for quick and intuitive sample manipulation
U think the learning curve for ableton is difficult? Thinking of switching from reaper
Made this over the weeknd and decided it would be the intro to an album I'll make in the next month, tell me what you think of it, I like it a lot :)
Fuuuckk this is really good

you on reaper?
not really, you might get confused by the two windows (session view and arrangement) but just use arrangement. read the manual and watch some tutorials on youtube. but learning how to exploit ableton features to your advantage is fun asf

big ass drums
Pinched up all the essential frequencies for each drum sound and took away all the unnecessary frequencies
And I raised the db just enough to hit but not be muddy or distorted
There's also an real deep sub bass under the whole thing (you can only hear it during the final drum break). Doesn't make much of a difference but Mike Will used the same technique in HUMBLE and it creates an ominous vibe
58?
that's what i said
i don't think i've ever gone over like 25 lmao
That beat is the result of me studying 40 and Dr Dre's engineering techniques for the past month
It's why the drums hit so damn hard without being muddy. Then Max Martin's philosophy of arranging each sound so every sound stands out in its own place
sounds like good life but faster
