yea ableton dont got that unless you are in separate tracks.
unless you just automate the transpose or bend the sounds too
you ca n do it but it has more steps
just made this messing with impulse
this is intriguing ive never really used impulse

although drum rack is more versatile

kinda weird. but it would be easier if each sound was in their own simpler/sampler
Yeah i like to manipulate my sounds so something like that is super important to me but i know you can do it outside of the drum rack but I personally am not a fan of the ableton piano roll after using it 💀 but ableton has so much that i wanna try out but still missing some things for me

Yeah the pitch for me is big it helps me get my drums sounding the way i want especially snares and hats and i like to make s*** dark

I see where you’re trying to go with this tbh and it can work but needs some changes. Everything loops too much especially the snares so i say you should make that a 16 bar pattern instead of an 8 and same for the bass too and make it more dynamic and there’s some stuff out of tune too. Try working on bringing stuff out of 8 bar loops and working with 16 or 32 because having short clips loop feels repetitive very quickly. Otherwise tho i can see exactly where you’re trying to go with it and can see the idea being done well with some work

its a four bar loop
thats all i had
i just pasted it a few times so you can hear it more

i usually just add everything inside a loop. and once i have a structure in head. i just paste it a bunch and start removing and adding stuff for progression

You should work with bigger loops off the go. I usually do 32 (sometimes 16 depending on the track) and then go from there but only doing 4 limits you so much off the go and trying to build into that and gets really repetitive fast but it’s going to be easier to already more space to work with so don’t limit how much space you’re giving yourself

Anyone who does a two bar loop needs to delete system 32...
8 should be the minimum but don’t fill every bar with the exact same thing. You need space so you can have different parts but even if you do an 8 bar loop give yourself room to have two of them and make the b section a little different than the a section. (Also i meant to say i work in 16 not 32 but every now and then i might depending on what it is)

yea I feel you
I always try changing stuff after a while like I’ll make the chords or bass line progress a different way or make the melody different a bit by rearranging notes
For example this melody changes when the other sounds drop out
Shout out to this tutorial I watched a year or two ago

I feel what you mean and you’re adding stuff to make it different but at the same time everything is still feeling repetitive because the loops are 2 beats and then repeat again. Try lengthening out the patterns that you make and add more to them and then loop it afterwards.

true
sometimes repetitiveness world and is good tho
Like the beat on kids see ghosts - kids see ghosts. the drums and perc just loop the whole time

It can work but you don’t want to keep everything in the downbeats tho and you want to add something else thats not in that loop either like they had a pad and each note was 8 bars and also the bass was an 8 bar loop as well
Lyric repetitiveness is different. Lyrics are written like that to be catchy and easily memorized to be easily repeated without having to listen to the song too many times or even once

have you heard this song from me
I like to think it’s my best

Yeah i like what you did with this one. I can immediately tell that you also gave yourself more space to work with on this one too. Def go for working with 16 bars even if you loop an 8 and double it. You gave yourself more room for ideas in this one
