0probably the worst thing about ETH is how it's now going to be a pyramid scheme that they transition to 2.0 Proof of Stake
early holders are going to get a disproportionate amount of the rewards
but you play the game by the rules and that's why i tried to warn all of you to acquire as many as possible before this happened

yeah basically
eth 2.0 tokens are a one way bridge that people are depositing their "1.0 tokens" into and they won't get their ETH back until the whole chain launches
right now only phase 0 is live. then they will need to enable tx's and then finally also smart contract functionality
the network literally can't do anything besides that until launch
now given that ETH has been behind on multiple development deadlines i personally am not locking any of my ETH in 2.0 since you might not be able to access it for YEARS lol whenever the devs finish the actual code.
i'm much more interested in the hundreds of hundreds of thousands of ETH now disappearing from the supply into that staking contract ;)
but to answer your question, yes ideally ETH 1.0 will get replaced by 2.0. but for example not all ETH contracts from 1.0 will work on 2.0
