eShop maintenance isn't always 1-to-1 with a Direct. Usually it happens 1-2 days before or after. I think it's more likely that the 11th's maintenance is for after the Direct.

Its 100% this week, before thursday most likely as thats when world cup starts and that would take all attention away from any announcements
