depends on what youre looking to get out of it. for story and characters, absolutely not, but the core JRPG gameplay is superb and its worth the price of admission on that alone if you like those kind of games

for me smt 5 quickly became one of my favorite JRPGs and i would still highly recommend it, but i am a gameplay first kinda guy. if youre big on story you may wanna lower your expectations for this one but do give it a shot.

Definitely, if it’s still on sale it’s an absolute no brainer. Nocturne HD is also a very good choice just obviously a little more dated

goddamn i’m playing the f*** out of MH Rise a lot easier than World so far, but the Japanese aesthetic, varied environments, and newfound mobility make up for it imo. the gameplay loop is as charming as ever, and the new monsters are super cute so far

This makes you a Nintendo guy in a way. Most of their games are driven by gameplay and the story takes a backseat. I’m having a hard time finding a game from Nintendo that I played and story stood out. It seems like Nintendo’s philosophy.

metroid has never sold more than 3M anyway, the best selling game is Metroid Prime that sold 2.84 (dread has already sold 1M+ so is gonna catchup soonish), also most audience (casual) doesnt care that much about resolution just games looking good which most do

this is coming from a 2017 owner with all the top 15 or 20 most sold Switch games, i was a superfan until certain games couldnt keep up and now i cant justify $79.99+tax CAD on a game that looks as bad as Pokemon Legends and runs at 30fps with spikes

i expected more because Mario Odyssey, Smash and MKart are all 1080p 60fps but i guess that's where it ended lol
