I’m actually shocked. Game is graphically subpar but apparently it’s doing other things pretty well if it’s getting these kinds of stats. Might end up copping after all.

A lot of people including reviewers dont care about graphical fidelity to the extent a lot of gamers do, reading the reviews it seems that everyone trashed the game for its graphics, which is what i think prevented the game for scoring in the high 80s/low 90s, but were surprisingly exceedingly positive on gameplay, with very few criticism on that part

If they can get a game with subpar graphics to rank in the mid 80s, imagine if it looked like botw at least

I'm glad to see that the gameplay is poppin'. I'm usually not the most demanding person in terms of graphics but Game Freak need to step up in that department because it just looks overall washed out and outdated. I appreciate the effort and I'm all for pushing the formula forward. It's just kind of underwhelming to see what it looks like graphically in 2022, especially coming from such a huge and successful franchise.

And the reviews also made that clear, in fact this game would've scored in the 90s if it was prettier. Gamefreak seems to have started taking measurements to fix this issue though, they moved offices next to nintendo development studios and were recently in a hiring spree and started a r&d department to research high end graphical fidelity. Dont expect these issues to be gone by the next mainline game, but in gen 10 we could start seeing some reasonable improvements

Nah i dont think i will, but ill keep my hopes up for the next games to implement all the good things this game did

On the fence with PLA, traditionally I’m not a big fan of Pokémon games but it’s mainly the battle style that I don’t care for much. The fact that I can play this game with a stealth approach and don’t have to worry about fighting a lot is enticing. However I fear that it’ll just be like the Pokémon games I’ve bought in the past. I’ll play for a few hours but lose interest completely.

kind of leaning toward getting arceus. just feel like it's missing something. like just feels like the entire game is built on collecting and there's no real goal beyond that?
