gonna play so i can s*** on my girl in badminton
Wow, even Nintendo Life thinks Switch Sports is ok at best. On the fence because it doesn’t seem like a game I will play often. I may just wait until golf is available, that’s the sport I really want anyways. Hopefully baseball comes back as well.

Enjoy man. Might not be the best game but the perfect game to enjoy with your girl
Just ordered the OLED model, worth it?
Only problem is you’ll never look at LCDs the same

Didn’t realize not all games were available off rip.
I’ll probably wait then.
Me and friends stayed up all night after the bars playing this s***. Dunno who is hating on this.
Every single game plays so f***ing well. Really not much else to say. Gonna consistently be playing this with friends and family, that’s for sure.
I guess if you don’t wanna spend $40 on it then don’t

Eh, I got a phone with an OLED screen and I can still go back to my Switch’s LCD no problem. I can even play the gameboy color with the stock screen without issue

bad comparison because phone and gameboy games don’t have the fidelity of console games so it doesn’t matter if you you play it on oled. Pokémon red not gonna look that different on oled lol
I just meant you won’t want to play the switch games on an lcd anymore, personally I only do handheld since I got the oled because it doesn’t look as good on my lcd tv
Switch sports is a skip for me until more content drops. So many good eshop sales right now though I hate being broke lol

I feel you lol, I’m trying to hold off until Strikers drop. Unless I see a deal I can’t pass up on.

That’s like the perfect scenario to play Switch Sports. However can’t say people will be over all the time to play. From reviews, they are saying there isn’t much to offer outside of local multiplayer. The issue is about content, not necessarily the gameplay.

I discovered their online feature last night. It has ranked play, bowling battle royale, and every week a new set of unlockables (Soccer goal explosions, outfits, gear, etc.) to flex in local play with friends. Other than the lack of more sports which they’re adding anyways, I can’t see the argument

Knowing Nintendo, that’s probably the bare minimum of an online experience. It’s not enough to keep someone engaged past a month. So it goes back to the game depending on local multiplayer at its core. Sure they can add more later, but that does not entice to buy SS now.

As far as multiplayer goes, it’s actually really fun. I wouldn’t call it bare minimum at all. There’s a ranking system for each sport, as well as weekly updated unlocks (12 new items each week) that cycle out.
However.. I agree, Nintendo is always like one step away from fleshing out a multiplayer experience. I wish there was different game modes within each sport, and some sort of online hub to explore (they did say they are adding this though).
Maybe it’s just me, but I expected this to be fun with friends, cool to have and play and nothing more. So to see that the game has a solid foundation with its core gameplay and an at least decent multiplayer experience is a bonus for me.

It’s cool they have a ranked mode and have unlockables, I give them credit for that.
Different game modes is what I was really expecting, especially to keep online multiplayer fresh. Also tennis, badminton and volleyball are all in the same world regarding variety. That’s three sports with a net. I can see that being repetitive after a month or two.
I don’t think it’s just you, but I do think your approach is in the minority. Most people will not play this with friends locally. It’s ‘22 and online has taking over the industry, it’s way different from when Wii Sports dropped in ‘06. That was also a free game. $40 is cheap for games these days (especially a Nintendo IP), however people are going to expect a little bit more.

All they had to do was add some cool game modes like King of the Hill. I agree, it was literally so obvious for them to do and they just didn’t. Also, I will fully agree the net game argument. Tennis and volleyball are great and contrast well enough, but then they add badminton and basically skew everything. Should’ve just had golf, basketball, and baseball from jump instead of badminton and called it a wrap.
{Insert joke about LEGS}
but rt i really hope to see them give it another go. its a fun game with great designs.
ARMS 2 when?
ARMS was f***in fire. Bought it day 1 with no regrets
Wild how slept on that game is
Have played so much local multiplayer of switch sports so far. With family and friends both coming over to play the game.
Don’t really play online gaming too much but the game is much more fun I think in the same room than online. Watching the other person bowl etc
