Skyward Sword is pretty much the opposite of BotW in terms of emphasis, even though some of the features in BotW actually came from Skyward Sword (parachute/sailcloth, stamina meter, upgrading gear). It’s the most linear and closed off Zelda game I’ve played and it’s generally one of the less appreciated Zelda games for this reason and because of the motion controls that some aren’t so fond of. I liked the game mostly for how it has a heavy and engaging emphasis on story, and gameplay gimmicks that I find to be fun and intuitive to use (motion controls and the creative ways you use them to solve puzzles and use items) but overall it’s probably one of the worst received 3D Zelda games.

It’s been 10 years since I’ve played skyward sword so the details are fuzzy but I just thought it was good not great

I had played and loved every Zelda up to that point so I just remember thinking it was an inferior version of what we had before

Accurate, from a map/world perspective the individual islands in the sky made the world feel empty. However the dungeons were pretty good.

I don’t remember the story all that well with SS, it’s worth playing it again based on that alone

NMH3 was apparently shown during treehouse but not the direct, that’s so sad. Direct would have been so much better with it

Imagine if BotW2 has some kind of time-limit like in Majora’s Mask, but in BotW2, it’s not the Moon crashing that has you on your toes, but the amount of time it would take for Link’s corrupted arm to corrupt the rest of his body. Starts with his arm, but spreads as time goes by, unless he finds a way to stop it or slow it down. Now this probably isn’t the case, almost never is lol, but I thought it was a fun and cool idea.

The more I think about the E3 Direct the more satisfied I feel about it.... and Nintendo is still holding back on the heavy hitters
