Switch 2 OLED in 2026

All they need to do is show me it running TOTK at 60fps in handheld mode and i’ll buy it day 1. I’ve been holding off buying it ever since the rumors started.

The PS Portal has an LCD screen and reviewers have said how incredible the screen is for being LCD

Not all LCDs are created equal. For $400, I could see Nintendo using a screen similar to the PS Portal

That’d be nice but this’s also Nintendo, when have they ever been with the times in terms of the tech they’re using. I’m sure it’ll be a better screen than the OG Switch but if I had to guess it’ll probably be more comparable to the LCD Steam Deck screen.

Lets go!! Sucks it’s LCD though. First Nintendo handheld to get a downgrade in screen quality compared to its predecessor. Nothing beats OLED

didn't buy an OLED because I mostly play docked so there was no point. I was hoping the successor would have an OLED too.

I honestly just want better graphics and performance/framerates. What you want?

revamped online service

• messaging

• more fleshed out version of the online invite system

• better online servers for games, especially given we’re paying for nso

• maybe profiles that have achievements or something idk

Oh yeah, I had forgotten about these things. Would be nice if the online functionalities were improved.

Bring back the Virtual Console. Nintendo Switch Online is a f***ing joke. Still have my Wii U hooked up because it's stupidly the easiest way to play all the old Mario, Zelda and Metroids in hd.

I hope Nintendo goes the Sony route

Sony offers old games on their subscription service. But if you don’t wanna subscribe for the retro s***, you can just buy them out right.

It satisfies both crowds that like subscribing and those that like buying to own

Yeah, I never had the Wii or the Wii U & sold my Gamecube a long time ago.
When I bought the Switch a few months after launch, I fully expected it to soon get the VC, just like the Wii U. One of the main reasons I got the Switch was cause I wanted to play games like Wind Waker, Twilight Princess, Paper Mario TTYD, etc., alongside new Switch games.
Fast forward however many years later, half of those games I wanted to play never got to the Switch. S*** is ridiculous.

Meanwhile, I got a PS5 recently, the first day I immediately DL'ed a bunch of PS4 games I missed on it cause I upgraded to PS Plus Premium. That's how you f***ing do it.

hopefully it being bigger means there's more under the hood (if these leaks are true)

I wonder how long the battery life of switch 2 is going to be. 8 inch LCD at 1080p could potentially drain the battery in a couple hours, but nintendo always focuses on great battery life for their handhelds so maybe they've found a way to be more energy efficiente with the chip they have
