Finally got around to hacking my 3ds

New 3DS XL for 3DS games and modding/emulation

Get DSi XL for DS games. IPS screen and the 1:1 scaling is pristine

the price difference is kinda crazy like i can find a nice quality normal 3ds xl for like 115-130 and nice new 3ds xl for like 200+
all the ones i see that aren’t super clean are so scuffed up

Honestly it just depends how committed you are to wanting to play 3DS games

If you just wanna keep it casual and play a game or two or hack it, get the cheapest option

If you tryna go all out and buy physicals, the New 3DS’s 3DS effects are absolutely impressive

The OG 3DS’s 3D is super trash. New 3DS is night and day difference of quality

My thought is if you’re gonna invest in a system late and buy it once, you might as well get the best possible version

Bigger screen, better 3D, retooled button placements make the New 3D the clear better option to me

Though console prices for them are out of hand I’ll admit that, just up to you if you think it’s worth it

The underwhelming white Joycon that looks pretty much identical to the current one? Wack. I hope the real deal has some more visual differences but I’m not holding my breath.
